The African Medical & Research Foundation (AMREF USA) announced today that award winning actress, Mena Suvari, has become its Goodwill Ambassador. As a Goodwill Ambassador, Ms. Suvari is committed to supporting and highlighting AMREF’s programs, which focus on Africa’s most critical health issues, particularly those that effect women and children.
Said Ms. Suvari, “I am really pleased to be associated with AMREF — which is the largest health development organization based in Africa and run by Africans. It is amazing to me how AMREF creates simple, culturally appropriate, and cost effective programs that save lives and create sustainability.”
Lisa Meadowcroft, AMREF USA’s Executive Director said, “We are proud to have Mena join our efforts to highlight AMREF’s extraordinary work that assists hundreds of thousands of African families each year.”
Ms. Suvari will visit AMREF’s programs in Ethiopia in February 2008.
Mena was in attendance of Kid Rock’s New Year’s Eve Party in New York on December 31st with I have to say the CUTEST hairdo! It’s very Mia Farrow, very now, hip and happening! I love it! Check out pics over at Wire. I hope she (and all of you!) had a great time ringing in the new year!
