Mena Suvari has her guard up.
In the holiday comedy Rumor Has It, Suvari plays Annie Huttinger, a young bride who cancels her honeymoon to rethink her marriage.
This past October, Suvari, 26, filed for divorce from cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, 44, her husband of almost five years.
Trying to get Suvari to comment on her personal life proved virtually impossible.
“Annie is very different than I am. She is way more over-the-top and exuberant. I’m far more reserved,” was Suvari’s reply when asked about her own marriage woes.
“I’ve met women like Annie whose emotions are extreme. They’re always so happy. They literally bounce around, which is how I played Annie.” Continue reading ‘Mena remaining mum’
Just a quick update - I’ve added 4 stills for Caffeine, 2 for Rumor Has It and 2 for Standing Still (check the gallery for those!) The Standing Still official website is now up with some pictures and film info. About.com has a interview with Mena from the red carpet premiere of Rumor Has It and AOL Moviefone has an exculsive clip from Rumor Has It! Also Mena is on the cover of Lucky & Nylon magazines (scans will be here soon) and she is also in Cosmopolitan & Vanity Fair (all January 2006 issues). Thans sto Riikka for her help on that! More news as it comes in!
Ireland Online reports actress Mena Suvari can’t wait to turn 27 in February because she’s convinced her 26th year is cursed. The American Beauty star has nothing but “bad memories” about 2005 after splitting from husband Robert Brinkmann.
She says: “I hate 26. I think it’s a bad number. It just seems off. One of my friends told me that 26 is a time when you start questioning everything: what you’re doing, where you’re going. I feel like I know where I want to be, I just want to hurry up and get there.”
Suvari admits she’s still coming to terms with her marriage split: “I’m still in shock mode. It’s like, ‘What the hell happened?’”
According to fashion insider at TheFashionSpot.com
“Mena Suvari wears a white grecian dress with gold straps by Phillip Lim 3.11 on the cover of Jan. Lucky. As far as content is concerned, this issue is fairly lazy: the 6-pg spread of Mena, though thoughtfully styled, indicates that the magazine which used to pride itself on shunning celeb profiling may have converted.”
Look out for it on newstands!
I know, bad me - updates have been very slack! I know I’ve been promising a new layout and I’ll add it just as soon as I have a spare few hours, I’ve had some other commitments of late, but to make up for it a bit I got some time to upload the Vegas and You magazine scans. Mena has also been on the cove cover of Bal Harbour magazine (I’ve never heard of it, but I did snag a copy from eBay) and Ocean Drive (both November issues) the cover is here and the article is here (same as Vegas). Scans should available here soon.
I FINALLY saw Beauty Shop today - the DVD was released in Australia last week, Mena was hilarious, but I’m disappointed she’s only in 3 scenes. Watch out soon for DVD captures.
What else is new…… Domino will be released on DVD on February 14th 2006 in Region 1. The Dog Problem is a new film that Mena is shooting at the moment (also starring Scott Caan [also writer and director], Don Cheadle and Giovanni Ribisi) and she plays Jules. Caffeine now have an official website up www.caffeinethefilm.com - dial up users, beware - HUGE images. Entertainment Tonight is have a “Rumor Has It” week with something new each day relating to the film! SO tune in! Have you been itching to hear about Standing Still?? (I have!!!!!) Moviehole.com has a review!
I think that’s about it for now! Keep checking the latest events to check out what she’s up to (and wearing!!!) - Until my next update!! (and I hope my next one includes the layout, more scans and some DVD caps!!!)
