Former supermodel-turned-bounty hunter Domino Harvey was found dead in a bathtub in her West Hollywood home on Monday night. She was 35. The daughter of late English actor Laurence Harvey - who starred in the original 1962 The Manchurian Candidate - and model Paulene Stone, was facing a possible life jail sentence over drug charges filed last year. Domino quit modeling 12 years ago to capture fugitives and criminals who had jumped bail. Police Lieutenant Don Mauldin says, “We got a call at 10:30 last night, saying that possibly a person had drowned in a bathtub. A friend or relative had called 911 from the house for paramedics. She was found in the bathtub.” Mauldin denied rumors a gun was involved in the demise, saying, “If it was a gunshot wound or a suicide, then we would have sent investigators to the scene - that did not happen.” The Los Angeles coroner is set to perform toxicology tests to see if drugs were involved.
Domino’s life story has recently been the subject of Keira Knightley’s new movie Domino, which is scheduled to hit cinema screens in the UK in August, although it may now be delayed to incorporate the former model’s death into the storyline.
There is an article in Woman’s Fitness (Australian edition, July 2005, Eva Longoria cover) about Mena and she about the benefits of an organic diet. It’s 2 pages with 2 photos. I’ll try and chase up a copy and put scans up asap!
Gushing with media at the moment! I have added my scans from Town & Country Travel magazine along with the short article scan too. I’ve made screen captures from the featurette from Trauma (R2 DVD). A HUGE thanks to Gertie for making us a video of Mena on Last Call with Carson Daly back in April. Its a great watch! I also went searching and found a video of Mena, Thora Birch & Wes Bently presenting an award at the 2000 Oscars. Check it all out!
he American Legacy Foundation® today named actress Mena Suvari as the latest celebrity ambassador to its Circle of Friends®: Uniting to Be Smoke-Free program. As an ambassador, Suvari will advocate for healthy lifestyle choices and encourage support for women who are trying to quit smoking.
Suvari’s film credits include a star-making turn in American Beauty, and appearances in American Pie and its sequel American Pie 2. She is currently featured in the film Beauty Shop, co-starring with Queen Latifah, Kevin Bacon, Alicia Silverstone, and Andie McDowell.
The Circle of Friends program is a national grassroots movement dedicated to educating women about the dangers of tobacco-related diseases and addiction, and highlighting the importance of supporting smokers who want to quit. Each year in the U.S., 178,000 women die from tobacco-related diseases, including heart disease, cancers, emphysema, and stroke. In fact, lung cancer, which is primarily caused by smoking, is the leading cancer killer of women.
Like many young people, Ms. Suvari started smoking in her teens. After a few years, she quit with help and support from her family and friends. The recent loss of an aunt to a tobacco-related disease as a result of secondhand smoke, coupled with her firsthand experience with the difficult process of quitting smoking, prompted her to speak out. Her aunt died at an early age and left behind a husband and two children. Continue reading ‘Mena Suvari Named Celebrity Ambassador to American Legacy Foundation ‘Circle of Friends’ Program’
I’ve added 5 more videos clips last night. 2 are clips from Mena’s 1997 debut film ‘Nowhere’ and the other 3 are clips from Mena playing ‘Geli’ in ‘Snide And Prejudice’. I also added 9 magazine scans from recent events. Check out the latest uploads to see them!

Just a quick one tonight. I made 2 video clips of Mena in “The Rage: Carrie 2″. I bought the DVD the other day (which I only had previously on video) hoping for some extra Mena (the DVD (region 4) has a alternate ending, deleted scenes & directors commentary) and it had ziltch! The director said nothing about Mena over her scenes and none of the deleted scenes had her, I know she only had a small part, but gee! Anyway enjoy the clips for a preview of Mena in The Rage: Carrie 2.
I reported a while back that it was thought that Caffeine was the new title for Dangerous Parking, this is most def. NOT TRUE. Sorry for the confusion. This is what I could find out about the film. Directed by John Crosgrove, Mena plays the role of Vanessa. There is very little about this film, what I could find via a google translation is “The tape deals with the owner of a cafeteria in London, and the peculiar people who know”. Some of the other cast (who are a mix of British & American actors) include Callum Blue (from The Princess Diaries 2), Katherine Heigl, Breckin Meyer, Marsha Thomason (from the TV show Las Vegas), Mike Vogel and Sonya Walger (from the TV show Coupling). To see more casting view imdb.com. John Cosgrove is also producing this through his Cosgrove/Meurer Prods. The film has been shot and is currently in post production and due out 2006-ish.
Finally for those waiting for the region 1 release of Trauma it’s happening!!! Look out on June 14th 2005! It’s available to pre-order from amazon.com for $18.73. Sad news, the region 1 DVD has no special features. The region 2 DVD (UK) has a commentary (by director Marc Evans) and a ‘making-of’ featurette.
I don’t think this aired even originally, but The Late Night TV Page has reported that Mena’s April 7th 2005 episode will be airing June 1st - check your guides for channels & times!
