On The Set of ‘Nailed Right In’ - Part 2

It’s midnight on a Friday night at the Holy Rosary Church in Harlem, hardly the time and place for a wedding attended by hot young Hollywood-types. Yet Freddie Prinze Jr. and Mena Suvari, both decked out in formal gear, are watching Scott Caan tie the knot - to an extra.

The event is one of the final scenes of “Nailed Right In,” an ensemble 1980s coming-of-age drama the trio have been filming in New York for over a month.

The night before the wedding scene, Prinze and Suvari’s characters consummated their relationship though the pair had just met in real life. The “American Beauty” actress was shooting “Rumor Has It” with Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner and director Rob Reiner while Prinze and others were in rehearsals for “Nailed Right In.” Continue reading ‘On The Set of ‘Nailed Right In’ - Part 2′

Mena Suvari on the cover of Vegas magazine

What a stunner! Mena is on the cover of Vegas magazine - November 2004 in the US. If the cover is a preview of the pics inside all I can say is wow! The official site has a peak of the interview and a preview of some of the pics (photographed by Marc Bapstie) I’ll try and get scans soon too! This has pushed Mena’s magazine cover count to well over 50 now! That’s quiet an achievement! Also quickly I’ve added scans from Mena on the cover of Sky magazine back in 2000 and a page from InStyle (from November 2004, Australia) on Mena’s beauty transformations.

Gallery update!

A huge thanks to Jen for scanning us an old magazine shoot from British Vogue - August 1999 - not really an article on her - on young Hollywood more - so we have the pics! Great pics never seen here before - some have - and these are much better quality! Check out the latest uploads here. Keep checking the gallery out from time to time because I’m always adding pics or adding better quality ones!

On The Set - ‘Nailed Right In’

Finally! I’m so excited - yes, yet again! I’ve found some pics of Mena and Freddie Prinze Jr. on the set in New York for Nailed Right In(October 25th 2004 for those playing at home). Mena - wow what I can say but BIG HAIR! For those who don’t know it’s a film (drama) set in 1984 during John Gotti’s rise to power in the the 1980s, childhood friends see a buddy’s life threatened after he shows an interest in becoming a mobster himself. The film is expected to be released next year. You can view photos at the following: StartraksPhoto.com, ISIFA and Rex Features

Mena’s comments on this years elecion at The Daily Show Party

Mena Suvari - along with other stars celebritys as Ethan Hawke and Illeana Douglas were at The Daily Show to watch and have there take on this years presidental election.

“I voted for John Kerry because he’s an intelligent leader and will take charge of the situation in Iraq,” said Mena Suvari. “I don’t want what happened in the last election to happen tonight. I hope this is different.” (from Salon.com)

Actress Mena Suvari says she can’t stay up all night –if it comes to that–to see if her candidate, John Kerry, wins the election. “I have to be at work at 5:30″–that’s a.m.–she said as she was escorted to a reserved VIP booth at The Daily Show’s election night party. I asked her what she’d do if Bush wins. “Leave the country,” she said, laughing.

Suvari, tiny in tight distressed (holes in the left thigh and right front pocket) blue jeans, vamped for the cameras showing off her almost bare back. A red wall of The Daily Show/Comedy Central logos was in the background. Hey, this party is about publicity, kids.

Mena (think I can call her by her first name?) said she was “nervous” and “kind of anxious” as she waits for the election results. At least I THINK that’s what she said into a mic from the celeb-worshipping show Extra. I was mostly peering at the actress from the armpit area of an Extra interrogator and thusly could see nothing but her shiny lip-glossed lips moving sweetly as the “reporter” seemed to be asking her life story. It went on forever. In case you were wondering, Suvari is a fan–”huge”–of Jon Stewart whom she describes as “a great guy.” As for The Daily Show, “It makes you want to learn” about politics. Yes, she says she did vote, absentee out of California. She lives in L.A. - (read more at The Chicago Tribune)
