Mena to Guest Star in ‘Six Feet Under’

Mena Suvari is re-teaming with the film’s Oscar-winning writer Alan Ball, signing to do a six-episode arc on his acclaimed series “HBO’s Six Feet Under“.

On the quirky funeral-home drama, Suvari will play a student attending the same art school as Claire Fisher (Lauren Ambrose).

“She’s very independent, very self-motivated, very edgy and in a lot of ways much more grown-up than she should be considering how young she is,” Ball said of the character. “She and Claire influence each other both artistically and personally.”

The part proved very difficult to cast. After several unsuccessful casting sessions, Ball decided to go out on a limb and aim high with an offer to Suvari, who aside from sporadic guest spots early in her career has stayed focused on features.

“I’m thrilled because Mena is an extraordinarily talented and extraordinary disciplined actress, and I just think she can do anything,” Ball said. “In ‘American Beauty,’ that was a very tough role, much tougher than it may seem like on the surface, and in the work I’ve seen her do since, I think she’s got tremendous range.” [Source: Reuters]

Mena in the UK to promote Spun

Mena has been in the UK to promote her film, Spun and on November 27 - she went to the premiere with co-star Micky Rourke. Mena said on the red carpet to BBC - “It was a lot of fun. I mean because, you know, usually on films you go to the set to be put into hair and make up to be made to look better than when you came it. This was just going completely the opposite way. So it was very relaxing.” View photos at Glamour.co.uk

My husband makes me feel sexy,” she told GLAMOUR.COM in an exclusive interview. Mena revealed: “Meeting my husband was the first relationship that I’d ever had where that person inspired me and gave me the opportunity to be the person who I wanted to be.” The Hollywood starlet, who plays drug addict Cookie in forthcoming movie Spun - released 28 November - has been married for four years now and says she couldn’t be happier. “He’s my best friend,” she added. “He’s mature and intelligent, I feel like I’ve learned so much from him and I wouldn’t be who I am today without him.”
