TeenHollywood.Com has reported that Mena has attended a fashion show at the LA home of Goldie Hawn - put on by daughter, Kate Hudson last Tuesday. The show raised money for two children’s charities, The Children’s Action Network and The Westside Children’s Center. The fundraiser, held each year in a celebrity’s home and co-hosted by Kate Capshawk, Rita Wilson and In Style magazine and a clothing designer, drew such other stars as Kristin Davis, Geena Davis, Camryn Manheim, Sheryl Crow and Kim Delaney.
The label of choice this year was Chanel, which put on its first ever Haute Couture fashion show held in America. The event expected to raise $100,000 (US). USA Today and the Arizona Republic also have articles on the event.
According to the British Film Institute, Lord Richard Attenborough has said ”
“I am working on two subjects - one called Shattered Dreams, about Robbie Burns, and a picture called Closing The Ring, about a real incident in 1943, written by Edward Woodward’s son Peter and probably the best first screenplay I’ve ever read. The cast is in place with Shirley MacLaine, Dennis Hopper, Colin Hanks and Mena Suvari, but we have only got about 85% of the money. I literally wait day by day to hear from its originator/producer Jo Gilbert about the remaining funds, so we don’t know exactly when we are going to start.”
I hope this film goes ahead and the get the remaining funds. Thanks to Randy03 for posting this at the Mena Suvari Fan Forums
I have also read that the movie budget is 12 million pounds (which is approx. 20 million US). This was from a online article from the Independent.co.uk back in March of this year. The article was about how the film will be filmed in Canada, not Belfast, Ireland where the story is set.
I was wondering when Mena was gonna be snapped at New York’s Spring Fashion Week. She was at the show for Summer/Spring line for m.r.s on the 18th dressed in a brown m.r.s top and a TSE sweater - looking awesome as usual! Other celebrity’s that attended were Natalie Portman, Julianna Marguiles and Maya Rudolph.
Mena along with other Lancome model’s attended the 19th Annual American Cancer Society’s Dreamball on the 17th and wow did she looks amazing! She wore a black dress with the bottom half made of velvet and ruffles on the hem designed by Yves St. Laurent. The event was held at
the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City and the ball raised money for the Look Good Feel Better program.
